Introducing the UYT Second Stage Series

The UYT Second Stage Series is a brand-new performance opportunity created to give performers more chances to be onstage throughout the year, especially for students who:

• Can’t commit to a 3-month show process?

• Want additional performance experiences?

• Want to try theatre for the first time?

• Didn’t get cast in another production?

• Thrive in smaller, more focused rehearsal processes?

• Or just love theatre?!

Second Stage shows rehearse over 3–4 weeks with shorter rehearsal times, low-pressure environments, and an emphasis on fun, collaboration, and community-building. It’s a chance for kids to grow, experiment, and take creative risks while still performing in a fully produced show.

About the Show — THE AUDITION

A heartfelt, funny, and incredibly relatable comedy about the courage it takes to step into the spotlight.

Life in the drama room is never simple… especially on audition day. The Audition follows a hilarious group of students as they face their nerves, hopes, dreams, and the wonderfully chaotic world of trying out for a show. From exaggerated characters to sincere moments of bravery, this play captures what makes theatre magical finding your voice, taking risks, and discovering confidence along the way.

With flexible casting, fast-paced scenes, and plenty of opportunities for every actor to shine, The Audition is the perfect first production for UYT’s new Second Stage Series.
