🎶Music and Voice Masterclass (Grades 6–12)

Description: Love to sing along with your favorite musical, but are struggling to hit the notes? Losing your voice after a performance of a school musical? Ian Michael, professional singing actor and voice teacher, struggled with the same thing. As a bass-baritone that studied classical music, he wished he had the tools to be able to sing his favorite songs from shows like Rent or Wicked. Now, he is here to provide the tools that he would have wanted as a teenager!

Sign up to bring your favorite musical theatre song and perform for other students in this masterclass on how we can try to sing our favorite songs AND keep our voices healthy at the same time! By singing for each other, you get to learn in multiple ways and support your fellow students! Families are welcome as well as we celebrate the natural beauty of our singing voices!

What to prepare/Expectations:

• Bring a song that you have already learned. Memorized songs are best, but if you need to use music, be sure you can also look up to connect with your audience.

• Come and have fun! I seek to establish a safe and judgement-free zone. I will ask you to do things that may feel uncomfortable mentally, but are intended to bring out your best natural sound. Also, I'm asking everyone to take the same leap of faith! To quote High School Musical, "we're all in this together!"
