Introducing the UYT Second Stage Series

The UYT Second Stage Series is a brand-new performance opportunity created to give performers more chances to be onstage throughout the year, especially for students who:

• Can’t commit to a 3-month show process?

• Want additional performance experiences?

• Want to try theatre for the first time?

• Didn’t get cast in another production?

• Thrive in smaller, more focused rehearsal processes?

• Or just love theatre?!

Second Stage shows rehearse over 3–4 weeks with shorter rehearsal times, low-pressure environments, and an emphasis on fun, collaboration, and community-building.

About the Show — WE ARE MONSTERS (Musical)

A joyful, music-filled adventure into the hidden world beneath the school cafeteria, We Are Monsters invites young performers to sing, move, laugh, and become the silliest, sweetest monsters you’ve ever met. With catchy songs, fun choreography, and an uplifting message about friendship and embracing what makes us different, this musical is a perfect introduction to performing onstage.

From rockin’ werewolves to funky forest creatures, every student has the chance to shine in this ensemble-driven production. Simple staging, memorable characters, and supportive instruction make We Are Monsters an ideal choice for K–7 performers who want to grow their confidence, creativity, and musical theatre skills in a fun and encouraging environment.
